Yazd Hotel

The hotel is located in Yazd, a historic city known for its mud-brick houses, central courtyards, and desert climate with scorching summers. The design of the hotel takes inspiration from the region's traditional architecture, specifically the central courtyard layout, which is well-suited to the hot, dry climate. This design helps regulate temperature and increase humidity through shading, along with the use of plants and water features at the heart of each courtyard, creating a more comfortable microclimate. Bricks are strategically incorporated throughout the hotel to shade walls and windows, enhancing energy efficiency. To prevent rooftop overheating in the morning sun, a wicker roof provides insulation and creates a relaxing space for guests. The hotel's overall layout reflects the city's traditional design, divided into two main sections: suites and rooms. The rooms are distributed across the basement, ground floor, and first floor. By partially submerging the building into the ground, we optimize energy efficiency. Additionally, excavated soil from the site was used in construction, reducing operating costs. The hotel offers a variety of amenities, including a restaurant, amphitheater, club, swimming pool, café, and shops featuring souvenirs and local handicrafts, ensuring a comprehensive experience for guests.
